May 10, 2008 - Clan Gathering - SPECIAL PRESENTATION - TONIGHT! This is our Mother's Day Clan Gathering. Special Presentation By:
Debra Campbell Subject: Losing Your Head: The Mother of James the 6th of
Scotland and James the 1st of England.
This Gathering will be in honor of our mothers,
wives, sisters, and all women. The Celtic woman has always held a
leading role in Celtic society. Come, show your appreciation.

Plan to spend Friday Evening 28th, and all day Saturday 29th at the Festival.
You will not want to miss out on seeing the Athletic Games, attending
Genealogy research training, eating traditional Celtic food, and visiting the
Vendors of Celtic items. We will have non-stop entertainment with
Bagpipes, Celtic Bands and Celtic Dancers perform. We will have
Clydesdale Horses and lots of other animals, and dog trials. There will
be something enjoyable for every member of the family.

2008 - U.S.C.O. Celebration of "Burns Night"
Join
with U.S.C.O. in Celebrating the life of Robert Burns. This is
the time to dress up in your most formal Scottish / Celtic Attire, and
Celebrate with U.S.C.O. Read on, to find out what is in store
for this grand evening. Make your reservations now and
plan to have one of the best evenings ever.

SUSPICIOUS CONTRA and ON THE DOSS
on one great stage!!! They will bring you an evening that
meets Robert Burns and the rest of the Scots idea of a
Scottish Birthday-- Fine food, song, dance and friendship.
Robert Burns is the poet Laureate of Scotland and his birthday
is celebrated all over the world with these fantastic Burns
Suppers. Join us as we toast the Haggis, Burns and the
Scottish culture. Robert Burns was not only a poet he
collected and preserved the Scottish tunes that we
cherish today. He also inspired the American Revolution with
the belief of equality. We have much to thank this man for.
ON THE DOSS is a collection of some of the finest
singers in the state. The immortal memory of Robert Burns will
be delivered in his songs featuring ON THE
DOSS . That grand band ON THE DOSS
is also known for rowdy Irish and sea shanties that have been
wowing the Tulsa audiences over the last few months and now
they arrive in OKC together for the first time. They will
conduct the evening with song to weave the history of Burns
and across the water to Ireland and the US.
After a fine meal
SUSPICIOUS CONTRA will invite the
CONTRA DANCERS and the SCOTTISH COUNTRY
DANCERS to teach us a few steps of Contra and
Scottish dancing. SUSPICIOUS CONTRA is one of
the absolutely most fantastic bands in the state and this will
be a treat for our Celtic ears
and our Celtic feet. Settle back and relax
or get up and learn a few steps!!! You will have a hard time
keeping still for this band!!! January

October 13th -
Global Oklahoma - campus of Rose State College, Midwest
City, OK. - (10am to 5pm) This year,
they're honoring all the countries who were involved in the settling of Oklahoma. This being, the Centennial year. U.S.C.O., will have
a booth set up for this event. We're providing entertainment by, Robert
Bruce (Bag Pipe), Laura Venable (Dancing), Roger Graham ( Guitar & Vocal), and
some of his friends, if he can get them to come, and Dustin Cooper (Harp &
Dulcimer) playing Middle Eastern music. Also, we need as many as possible to signup to bring baked
goods. We'll be having an "unofficial" bake sale out of
the U.S.C.O. tent. Please contact Linda Hendricks to

members as possible, to help out at this event. Lots of
opportunity to meet people and spread Scottish/Celtic
culture in Oklahoma, and help out with the bake sale and

the same day. Global OK during the morning and afternoon
and U.S.C.O. in the evening.
October 13th - Halloween Celebration

U.S.C.O. will host a Celtic-theme Halloween Party. Come dressed as your favorite Scottish/Irish/Celtic character.
Don’t have a costume, come anyway and
enjoy the fun. Prizes will be given for the most

8th - Country Celtic - An
evening of country western music and a discussion of the evolution of
Celtic music into modern country music. Presented by Eddie and Roberta

The 28th Annual Oklahoma Scottish Festival is pleased to announce they
are returning to their new home,
River Parks West. It is also
known as
River West Festival Park located at 2105 S. Jackson Ave located on
the beautiful Arkansas River with an awesome view of the downtown
Tulsa skyline.
Gates open Saturday 10:00am
to 11:30pm (most vendors will close at 6pm Saturday)
Saturday Night Celtic Concert 6pm to 11:30pm (Free with
festival ticket or $5 without)
Sunday 9:30am to 5pm, Kirking at 10:00am

Sponsored by the Oklahoma Genealogical Society ( O.G.S. ) U.S.C.O.
will have a booth set up to help patron with their Celtic-Scottish,
Irish, ancestral research. The
Oklahoma History Center will be open to the public with free access to
the museum complex. Several
of the activities planned for the Centennial Ancestor Fair, include:
Plenty of Fun Kid's Activities!, Genealogy, Photographs, Brag about
your Ancestors & Hear Tall Tales. Hear from the Experts on how
to search for you Indian & Pioneer ancestors. There will be several
genealogical, historical & lineage societies from around the state to
answer questions. There will be: Costume Contests, Genealogy Contests,
Photo Contests, and Society Table Contest. Also, you will get a
chance to Brag about your Ancestors on stage, for a $1 per minute. Go to the

vendors, bands, dancers, dog show, and much, much more. Get up-to-the-minute information about
the Oklahoma Celtic Music & Heritage Festival, which is an
official "Oklahoma Centennial Event", to be held in Stillwater, OK,
June 16 & 17, 2007. This event will surely be the
highlight of 2007 for the state of Oklahoma.

Gathering this month will be a "Celtic Hawaiian Picnic", held next to the
gymnasium, in back of the church. Wear your favorite Hawaiian attire
and enjoy an evening of outdoor cooking enjoyment. Bring whatever meat
product you want to eat and we'll cook it. Bring your lawn chair and a

or other apparel, were worn and modeled at this
picnic.
